I think the title about covers it....thats all for today.
:) Just Kidding. The single life isn't so bad. Yes, I'm home sometimes on the weekends. Doing homework and the like, but what do you do? Its life. And, it happens. Makes for plenty of time with family and the books, and what more could anyone possibly ask for? I know what you're thinking...an eternal companion...but, that will come. IN TIME....thats what they tell me anyway. Today has been extraordinary (Which I found out today, by a very funny patient, could mean extraordinarily good, or extraordinarily bad, so..I'll let you decide). I spent the whole day at work, eating too much junk food, and poking the patients ALL DAY LONG. It still boggles me that they say 'thank you' after each and every shot.....I guess in the long run it helps them, but I can't imagine they really love the injection. Anyway, my allergy test today was a man about 70 is my guess! He's been retired for years, told me he and his wife had lived in Virginia for about 40 years, and guess what he did for a living...... He was the assistant in the White House to President Nixon, President Ford, and President Carter, Reagan, George Bush Senior, and then finally he resigned when President Clinton took office! So he was there for watergate, and the race between Ford and Carter...he went on about how Ford would have taken it if he hadn't pardoned Nixon for his crimes, but still, he thought it was for the best for the country, and so..CARTER won the election.. Holy Cow Right...! Who woulda thought. Its amazing the stories people carry with them. Beyond that, not much happened. Our Merck Rep brought lunch in today from noodles and company. I'd never had it before, pretty tasty stuff and I'm not even a pasta fan. Apart from work, home life is good. Mom, Trav, and I are all surviving the semester. Dad is working hard at his office. Janae and Cassidy are loving the social life that comes with going to school. As for the kids moved out and married, everyone is alright. Sick babies, but we're keeping them in our prayers and hopefully we'll only see improvements from here.
I didn't write yesterday, but it STORMED A GOOD ONE! The wind was unbelievable. It was a definite blizzard in every sense of the word. School kids down near the point of the mountain couldn't even get home and were sleeping at the schools. Accidents on the road everywhere you look. Spin offs, and outs. Plows tearin' up the roads. It was quite the event. As for me, I left work early (about 2:30pm) to come home and shower, and get to bountiful by 5. It all worked out. I went to the office and traded my dad my car for his truck. I wanted to have the 4 wheel drive. I really was blessed because I got down there safely and in pretty good time. Tom invited me to dinner with him and his parents to celebrate his birthday a couple days late. We went to The Five Alls (i think thats the name) up on foothill drive in salt lake city. Its a way old school...english, tavern type thing. Only very classy. You know what I'm talking about if you've been. Anyway I was convinced to try crab, and guess what. Its GREAT. So So good. I'm definitely a fan. We had a good time. Tom's dad and I pretty much sat and listened to Colette and Tom talk about tennis :) and what Jesus would do if a shooting broke out in a mall... random, but good conversation none the less. Anyway I totally appreciated the invite. It was a really fun night. We went back to Tom's house and just kinda hung out, watched the Jazz play, although I have to say the Golden State and Suns game was way more fun to watch. We ended up watching tru tv..somehow that always happens. Criminals are so dumb. Anyway I left about 11 and was home before midnight...even with the trecherous snow conditions...I think the worst part was the fact that the one windshield wiper on my dad's truck is WORTHLESS. That doesn't help in a snow storm, and with semi's throwing stuff at my windshield...sheesh.
All's well that ends well right :)
HAPPY FEBRUARY 14TH TO EVERYONE...whatever this day is for you....!
