Luckily Dreu called me early this morning to remind me I'd made an appointment with the bishop. I'm confident I would have forgotten without his reminder so I'm grateful for that!
I got to the church right on time to meet with Bishop Evans.
My Purpose: Well my temple recommend expired at the end of February so...I'd love to have a new one!
Turned out though bishop left his keys to the cabinet with the interview questions at home. So we just talked about my life and his life, callings, and the ward.
I REALLY NEEDED THIS! Maybe it was no coincidence that he left his keys at home. Perhaps he wouldn't have had the time to have such an in depth conversation with me. He really cares about what's been going on and that means more to me than he'll ever know.
In talking he referred to this scripture.
I'm going to have it be the 'theme' if you will...of the next couple weeks or month, however long I need it. He said he came across it 2 weeks ago and it's done a good job for him so I figure I'll try it.
2 Nephi 2:24
But behold, all things have been done in the wisdom of him who knoweth all things.
And another story that Elder Packer when he was an assistant to the quorum of the twelve...and he would always ask why. Well he said he learned to stop asking why because more often than not, the Lord's answer is simply, BECAUSE.
Thanks Bishop Evans.
Anyway, I've got some final things to do before I teach today. So I should use my next hour wisely! Adios-
