SINGLES. BEAR LAKE. TROLLEY SQUARE.

So...this weekend (Thurs night to Sat. afternoon) was spent in Logan/Bear Lake at the Clinton 23rd Ward Summer Activity for all the singles in our (Singles) ward :)It was a great time. I missed Mike of course, but all things considered I'm very glad I went. We got there late (even later than we had expected ) thursday night, because I forgot my swimming stuff in my car when they came to pick me up from work...so amber phelps but kind souled driver turned around so we could go back and get it! i was so lucky a girl was driving because a guy driver just wouldn't have the same sympathy! Anyway, since we went all the way back to s. ogden from Brigham City we decided we'd get some food since we'd be missing dinner at the Cabin. So I got my things from my car and moved it from dr. major's parking lot over to the dreammaker/habitations (mike's) parking lot for safe keeping over the weekend. Everybody (except myself) ordered something from Costa Vida. But I had a big lunch that day so I just went next door and got some ice cream to top it off ;)
Once we finally got back on the road we all had sooooo much fun. We taught the carful of people (amber, hollie, me, travis, and randy) how to play DONKEY. At first they were slow to catch on but they ended up really liking it! One funny part I seem to remember went something like this...the letters so far were U-M-M and with travis next he laughed :) challenged hollie's word and she was like duh...ummillionaire! haha. quick thinkin. but she still got a letter :) In fact I think that finished her.
That night at the Cabin we met our ward and the guest singles we had invited to join us from the Roy north stake. All together I think we had about 70 people there, so great turn out. Friday morning came......and luckily I had slept good cause Jodi Carter was nice enough to let me sleep on her air mattress with her. (All travis had brought me to sleep with was a sleeping bag) no pillow, pad, nothing! So I used my beach towel as a pillow...not the best but better than nothing. So anyway morning was there and so were service projects :) We stayed at Camp Lomia about 10 miles outside of Logan and we just cleaned up the place. Trimmed trees, dug weeds out, painted bathrooms, leveled horseshoe pits...and the like. The place looked great by the time we were through. Next.....it was off the the LAKE! Long story short....we canoed, floated on tubes, played frisbee and volleyball and horseshoes, and we road waverunners....I'll just say we had A SERIOUS BALL! IT ROCKED. And I'll also advise all of you to stay below 35mph if you're gonna crank the steering wheel to either direction. I threw travis and I hard. It HURT! I got a nice bruise on my thigh and Travis got my whole body thrown into him like a regular projectile!...sorry trav!
And....Whirlpools are hazardous ;) We left the lake a little early to get back for showers before the rush. Worked like a charm other than having cold water to shower we still were all cleaned up before lots of the others even got back to camp. That night we had a super great dutch oven lasagna and bread for dinner and then a fireside (with no fire) given by BISHOP EVANS. That man can speak. It was all about "divine rendevous" and how our Heavenly Father and the Savior are involved so much in our lives, though we don't always realize it. We are where we are for a reason, we meet who we do when we do because we should....our father has it all planned out for us. He knows what we need when we need it, and the like. There was a cool spirit felt! After the talk we had dessert and we ended up talking for a couple hours about relationships of people in our ward. Everybody opened up and talked about embarrassing experiences and dating life now and heartbreaks. It was so eye-opening and funny so thanks everyone for participating. I won't soon forget the laughs! This morning brought breakfast, and clean up, and then we went down to Logan to the Rock Haus indoor climbing facility and messed around there for a little over an hour. Again, we skipped out a little early. Only this time we were just ready to be HOME HOME. Lovely trip. Lots of funny memories. I wish I was less lazy and I would write about all of them individually but I think it would just take too long! So this is plenty.
TONIGHT...well 4:30pm I met Mike, Nate, Joni, and Kennedi over at Najokens house in Layton. They invited us to some concert/bbq sampling at the galavyn center in SLC. So...we went down there...and we found a very lame event going on. So...what did we do? We made a positive out of a negative and we went and had dinner at the Old spaghetti factory at trolley square. (YUM!..Nate said my food looked gross but I so enjoyed it)...i believe his exact words were, "Hows that green crap on your plate tastin'?" oh haha. Anyway from there we went and wandered Restorative Hardware and Pottery Barn and admired all the neat stuf therein!
Then tonight about 8:30pm we were back home. Mike and I let Nate and Joni go home, and he and I came back to my house to spend time with the fam. (Mom, Dad, J, and Trevin were the ones home) I guess Kenna and Gage went on a date to see the Dark Knight finally so we were entertaining their adorable son :) As soon as Janae's friend Jordan came over we put in Nim's Island to watch on the DVD player. What a weird movie. It was for sure a different kind of movie than you normally see so I have mixed feelings about it! Anyway It was WONDERFUL to be home again and back in Mike's arms. (I apologize for how sappy that sounds, but thats what you get tonight). With a kiss goodnight and a plan to go to church together tomorrow I sent him off.

WHAT A WEEKEND!
