Mike and I left for St. George Thursday night after work. I drove to fillmore and then Mike drove the rest of the trip. "It's the proper way" he says ;) We played D.O.N.K.E.Y. and he Almost beat me, but I pulled ahead in the end. Thanks to him spelling "TEN" on accident. We got down there to Biker and Nuny's place about 11pm. Brought our things in, talked with B&N for about 2 hours and then hit the sack.
We THOUGHT Friday morning would bring an early drive to Zion's and a hike up Angel's Landing. But we must have been more tired than we thought cause we both slept in til 9:00 or so-- and by then the heat is too much for a hike. So we kinda relaxed all morning. Biker got our minds turning about scripture questions and the like. Mike got put on the spot a few times but hopefully it wasn't too bad. About 1 o'clock we went for a swim. Nuny brought her knitting and supervised :) We got less than an hour in the pool before grandpa came over and said lunch was about ready. He went and picked us up some chimichangas from a mexican place he and grandma found. I got pork. Mike had beef. Mine was DELICIOUS. I had half of it and was full so I saved the rest for another day. Next came the shower. Mike went first and then I took my turn. AND I THINK the rest of the day entailed movies. Biker of course had recorded some action movies for me! We watched James Bond in Goldeneye and then Harrison Ford in Air Force One. I think being able to be with Mike ALMOST 24/7 was the best part of it. Dinner was on the table about 6:30 and guess what we had...BIKER'S FAMOUS MASHED POTATOES. yum! Don't worry, I had plenty. Friday night we watched the Opening Ceremonies of the 2008 summer olympics in Beijing China. The show was incredible. Absolutely Remarkable. It seems it was about 4 hours long, but still--how can you go wrong with a great show and being with the man I'm in love with? The answer is, you can't.
Saturday morning I thought we might be more ambitious with the getting up early for the hike thing but we had a repeat of the morning before. Slept in, and didn't go. Ah well. It happens right? Mike did later suggest that we go do the "crack"...McKenna's favorite tiny little slot to go through. But I hate that thing quite a bit so..I decided against it. I had my favorite RAISIN BRAN CRUNCH for breakfast Saturday morning. And I think we filled the morning with the Olympics. Swimming, Gymnastics, and Women's Volleyball. I decided I'd had enough TV so I left Mike to converse with Biker while I went in the front room to read my book. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince? or something like that :)
EVENTUALLY Mike picked a book of Grandpa's book shelf and came to join me. It was nice to get away from the Big screen. Saturday afternoon the pool came again! This time Biker swam with us. Mike put on the dolphin show...and showed us a few tricks. Made a "swim cap" out of a noodle and the likes, whoever said the boy was shy was sadly mistaken. He's an entertainer when he wants to be. We swam longer this time, and Mike didn't lose ANOTHER contact so it was good!
Back at the house it was my turn to shower first. Mike layed out in the back yard in the mean time. He was roastin' by the time his turn came around (To be fair though, I told him I'd be a while!) This afternoon we were kind of on and off with another James Bond Movies, Tomorrow never dies. Biker kept switching back between the Olympics and the movie so, I just took a nap. 40 mins was enough. Mike was a good pillow. Sometime later we played phase 10. We finished just before dinner. We didn't really finish so I call it a tie. Mike's nice and says I won. But thats false. It could've gone either way. Later on i'm sure was more TV and more olympics. About 10 we decided we should go fill up the car so i'd be on FULL for our Sunday drive. Mike washed the windows too...every single one...and tried to threaten me into picking out a drink...but, i withstood the peer pressure ;) Back at unit 35 we started another movie. True Lies..but didn't finish it cause of it's lack of plot.
Tonight Biker and Nuny went to be before Midnight! So...We got ready for bed too. Read our scriptures, said our prayers, brushed our teeth, all that good stuff. But instead of going to bed I decided to read some more Harry Potter while Mike feasted on his B.O.M. Good man! I only read a chapter. Cause I'd read a few earlier in the day. Then I just enjoyed some (More) down time with Mike. It was nice. I like him close. THEREFORE THE TRIP WAS GREAT FROM MY POINT OF VIEW. We did do alot of sitting around, but I was happy. And Biker and Nuny loved having guests. Sunday we got up and ready for church by 11.. I realized I forgot my church shoes, and I didn't want to wear my flip flops so..I wore Grandma's shoes to church. They were lovely! But I SO APPRECIATED her letting me borrow some. Grandpa of course deliverd a great lesson in sunday school. Types of Christ are everywhere in the B.O.M. We just have to look for them! After priesthood, Mike commented that it was GREAT, and he LOVES THE ELDERLY. Makes me wonder...;) Another gentleman came up to him and just started offering advice. The older and wiser seem to do that. After church Nuny threw in some quick pizzas and got out the salad. I tried to round up all my stuff (that had somehow been quite spread out throughout the weekend). We left on full stomachs and some hugs. We were on the road AGAIN. I stayed awake for less than an hour and then slept for two. Mike stayed awake on chips ahoy cookies :) Once I woke up though it was still kind of an uneventful drive. Good weather though, good company so it was fine. It was odd dropping mike off. I wanted to tell him to come over in an hour or so but I knew I'd had him all to myself for the weekend so, I just let it go and went home to spend the rest of sunday with my family and got a haircut..it was good. So, all in all there you have it. Mike's a funny guy. We were getting off the freeway to go on 89 to his house and he's like I'm getting off here. It's your turn to drive :) nerd...I LOVE YOU!
ANYWAY...THAT WAS LONG. SORRY I HOPE WHOEVER READ THIS KIND A JUST SKIMMED.
