Life is Beautiful

It's spring break for Mike and I have a couple days off so yesterday he took 3 days off work so we've been able to spend time the whole day together! Yesterday I needed to drop something off at work, so Mike introduced me to his life on the public transit system (he has been valiant and rides UTA ALMOST every day to and from work and lets me alternate driving each of our cars to keep miles low and gas cheap!). So he and I rode the bus to my workplace and you know what...it wasn't that bad! It feels so vindicating to run an errand without spending a penny! The bus stop is a very short and pleasant walk from our apartment too. That may just be as close as I get to a date this week. Last night Mike started feeling sick. Cough mostly. This morning he has a fever......my poor boy. I gave him orders that he cannot get off the couch today, to drink lots of fluids, and let me cater to him. Luckily we did most of the chores around home yesterday afternoon (we even got our big grocery shopping trip done at a good price cause Mike found us all the good deals in the ads! I think it's fun for him!) So I'm gonna do my best to give him some TLC today because tonight I have to work AGAIN. I'm supposed to work twice a week but somehow this week I'm working 3 nights! Sounds silly that I care about this but it does make a big difference to my life since it's the graveyard shift. Thats one more night of no sleep...which means I miss most of the next day too catching up on sleep lost :) Yes I am sort of complaining but at the same time I know it is a blessing for Mike and I because I can pay our rent with just 6 days of work. It feels good as a woman to be able to contribute to my family! I'm more than happy to carry some of the weight around here. I felt so useless when I was unemployed....but it was also nice for me to have no responsibilities outside of school and home.

ANYWAY, I'm just babbling now.
What I actually wanted to show you all was that Mike made us dinner rolls last week for dinner from SCRATCH! What a guy huh? I have no idea how to make home made rolls. I was so impressed. They turned out perfectly and were so delicious. He made a whole tray of them but there were only 4 left by the time I thought to take a picture. He also made us home made bread sticks to go with our soup last week but those didn't get photographed at all....I HAVE GOT TO LEARN TO BE A BETTER HISTORIAN!

He opted not to pose with his rolls but man I was so impressed that he made these. He really should be the cook in this family! He's always trying something new :) He'll have to do with my cooking today though because he is restricted to the couch until he proves his recovery is complete. I LOVE HIM. He makes my life better than a fantasy. Hopefully I'll get some pictures of our new place up here soon. It's all decorated and we're all moved in..I just haven't felt like taking pictures of everything recently. Let hope more ambition hits me soon. Til then!...thats all from the COOMBS'.
