Mike took me for a date today :) We've wanted to go down to IKEA for a while but didn't have much else to do down that direction, but over the past month or so we managed to get two free movie passes for the megaplex and a gift certificate to Archibalds restaurant. Since we didn't get to visit my grandpa's grave on memorial day I wanted to fit that in too. So, we decided this Saturday was the one to do all of this on since I didn't have to work tonight! So our date went like this...
First to Herrimann to see my grandpa's headstone that was finally put on. It was a good experience. This visit to the cemetery was definitely less tearful than my last visit.
When he's not with us, we're blue. Oh grandpa, we love you!"
Next we went to IKEA, It wasn't quite what I expected. I was still glad we went. No pictures of our visit unfortunately. We bought a cinnabun to share on our way out. It was delish! Next stop was Gardner Village! Before eating we decided to take a stroll through the shops. We only stopped in a couple but we enjoyed the quiet, and of course the shade. It was a hot day! We took a few pictures by the bridge to remember our adventure :)
After all the walking through IKEA and our stroll through the village we were ready to eat. It was so so good. Mike got country fried steak and I went with the stuffed pork chop. Both were fantastic. We definitely liked this place and wish we had something similar closer to home!
After dinner our plan was to use our movie tickets to see Prince of Persia at Jordan Commons, but shortly after we got there, we found out the showtime we planned to go to was SOLD OUT! It was such a bummer. The next show wasn't for almost 3 hours, and we decided it'd be a bad idea to get home so late since I have to get up at 5am to precept tomorrow. BUT...We decided not to let the circumstances ruin our day so we headed home with a smile on our faces. Once we got home we did a quick change of outfits, and Mike went to play tennis for a while, and I went to dip my feet in the pool. After a while Mike joined me and swam a few laps. Overall it was a super saturday! The rest of our night holds some bonding time with bear grylls and some rocky road ice cream! Could I ask for more? I think not :) I hope you all enjoyed your saturday as much as we did ours! Keep blogging. I love reading all of your summer adventures!
