THE ROAD TO "R.N.HOOD"

Another weekend come and gone.
Friday I got my letter from the DATC Nursing Program....and....I got in! Woo Hoo! It wasn't my initial plan to attend at that campus but I'll take what I can get! I found out they have shared instructors from Weber State so I figure it'll be just as good and I get to start in January. So, I'm excited. I tell ya, a letter like that is a GOOD way to start a weekend! Friday night after work.. me, mike, my mom, and cassidy went to Kelly and Ross Walker's new place in Eden for a BBQ and just to catch up (they moved from our ward maybe a year ago...?) if that. We had burgers and laughs :) later on in the evening we tried out their rock wall! Mike did great. Me, not so much. I went up once...and did feel like being embarrassed further. Another day maybe. Anyway we talked about running, hikes, careers, and luck. Good night for sure! Once we got home that night, Mike and I sat down to read our book. We're reading the peacegiver together. We barely got through one chapter.....It'd been a long day already and my boy was tired.
Saturday brought with it the 3 Month Anniversary of our first date. So what did I do? Went shopping with Janae......haha. She insisted we needed some new clothes for our hawaii trip (which starts tomorrow by the way). So we left about 10 or 11 and got finished about 4. We bought ALOT. We shouldn't need another shopping trip for a while. Saturday night about 8 Mike came and picked me up to go to dinner. He took me to Braza Grill in Layton. It wasn't like I imagined but tasty all the same. Then, we thought we'd go get in line for the dark knight (janae and i had bought tickets that afternoon for her, me, and mike)...well, it was then that I realized I left the tickets in my car. Way to go right.. well luckily mike had bought travis a ticket to go too, so I caught travis before he left home to bring us our tickets too. So mike and I killed time by visiting janae who was working at Jason's Deli. Anyway, we did finally make the movie and travis got us a good place in line so we had ideal seats for the big show!
It was SO CREEPY in some parts! Heath Ledger definitely got into character. It's crazy to think he's not alive...but it's a crazy world we live in isn't it.
Sunday! Well....Mike came to get me about noon. His mission president from Chile Santiago North Mission was home and speaking in sacrament meeting. We went to his ward up in bountiful (Moss Hill ward) and they and their daughters spoke about their experiences. And they also had all the return missionaries (from their mission) sing Called to Serve in Spanish. With a little twist that personalized it to their mission. Pretty neat to hear. The whole meeting was full of good things. Mike definitely enjoyed himself. Seeing old faces and trying to remember names :) I was totally content sitting back and letting him linger though because i would definitely do the same thing. After the meeting we went over to the Duncan's (his mission president's home) for some cookies and more chatting about the mish ;) It just so happens that they live right next door to the VandeMere's (Uncle David's Inlaws, Joydel's grandparents).
AND I ran into my friend Ashley Fleming there. Turns out "President Duncan" is her uncle. Small world. Later on Mike and I left and went over to his house for Sunday dinner with all his family and we even got some a couple more chapters of our book read. We're officially more than half way through with it. My first goal was to have us finish before I left for hawaii but we didn't make that, so..we'll regroup ;) And then about 8 or so...we went over to Nate's house (he and joni were hosting the sunday get together cause chief and cassidy had both been sick at our house, so sugar didn't want the babies over there) We played catch phrase and the 10,000 pyramid game...or something like that. We had some food and late into the evening we put in a movie.
Janae took me home so that Mike didn't have to drive out to Clinton so it all worked out.
I would definitely feel good about saying I had an amazing weekend, and that I am so lucky to have Mike in my life.

love,
si.
